Carol spent two summers coaching junior women at Penn AC Rowing Club in Philadelphia, and three years as an assistant coach at Duquesne University where she obtained a masters degree in Social and Public Policy. In her third year coaching at Duquesne, Carol joined AmeriCorps and spent a year serving with the Homewood Children's Village in Pittsburgh Faison K-5 before taking off for the Louisiana Delta. She spent two years teaching elementary school with Teach for America in Tensas Parish in St. Joseph, Louisiana. As of now, Carol is in her sixth year at Robert Morris University (second year as a head coach), and in her fifth year coaching masters athletes at Three Rivers Rowing Association where she also serves on the board and as the DEI subcommittee chair. She has her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Duquesne University and her primary area of research revolves around equity and inclusion in collegiate rowing and the experiences of Black female rowers attending and competing for predominantly white institutions.
